SPECIALIZED LEOPARD PHOTOGRAPHIC TOUR 

This Tour would be for those who are fanatic about the Endemic and Elusive Sri Lankan Leopard. The Sri Lankan endemic leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) is a captivating apex predator, distinguished by its robust build and striking rosette-patterned coat. Endemic to the biodiverse landscapes of Sri Lanka, this elusive feline species holds a significant place in the island's ecology and cultural heritage. Join us to explore the natural habitats of this remarkable creature and witness firsthand the conservation efforts dedicated to its preservation.

Standard Tour Itinerary for Leopards 

This tour is planned for 12 Days and we mainly focuses on the Wilpattu National park as the start, where we will see them in their beautiful undisturbed behaviors with white sand and villus in the background, then we are leaving to Horton Plains national park for the Giant Mountain Leopards in the cloud forest and mist around them with a totally new environment. Then we are heading to the Kumana National Park/ Yala National Park depending on the sightings and also the weather conditions. For these tours we will be using few of our specialists who are best for Leopard behavior tracking so you just need to bring your binoculars and the perfect gear to capture the moments for a Lifetime.

  • Arrival to Sri Lanka, Check-in at Wilpattu National Park selected Resort/ Bush camp.

  • 3 Full days at the Wilpattu National park - Tracking leopards ethically

  • Leaving to Horton Plains Cloud Forest - Check-in at the selected Resort.

  • 3 Full days tracking for the Ghosts of the Cloud Forest in the Misty roads and Plains.

  • Leaving to Kumana / Yala in the beautiful Ohiya Road

  • 3 Full days at Kumana / Yala National park

  • Leaving to Colombo for Departure.

Standard itinerary for The Birding Tour

Day 1-2: Arrival in Colombo and Transfer to Kitulgala
- Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport
- Transfer to Kitulgala, renowned for its diverse birdlife
- Birding excursion along the Kelani River and surrounding rainforest

 

Day 3-4: Sinharaja Rainforest Exploration
- Journey to Sinharaja Rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Full days of birding in the pristine rainforest, home to a rich array of endemic species

 

Day 5-6: Udawalawe National Park
- Travel to Udawalawe National Park, known for its avian diversity and large population of Sri Lankan elephants
- Birding safaris within the park, with opportunities to spot raptors, waterbirds, and dry zone species

 

Day 7-8: Yala National Park
- Transfer to Yala National Park, famous for its leopard population and diverse bird species
- Birding safaris in search of peafowl, painted storks, and the elusive black-necked stork

 

Day 9: Bundala National Park and Transfer to Kandy
- Explore Bundala National Park, a haven for migratory birds and wetland species
- Transfer to Kandy and birding in the Hanthana Mountain Range

 

Day 10: Kandy City Tour and Transfer to Nuwara Eliya
- Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens and birding in Kandy
- Transfer to Nuwara Eliya, with birding opportunities en route

 

Day 11: Horton Plains National Park
- Full day of birding in Horton Plains National Park, known for its highland avifauna and stunning landscapes

 

Day 12: Return to Colombo and Departure
- Return to Colombo with birding stops en route
- Optional city tour or relaxation at the hotel

Things to Consider

  • We can totally customized the tour with your requirements. for example adding Mannar Island can be done if you are planning to visit during the Migration season to see Greater Flamingos & many waders (Sepetember -march)

  • You can come in a Birding group minimum of 4 pax which is ideal. Or if you are photographers then we can customermize the tour just for your needs.

Day 3-4: Millennium Elephant Foundation
- Transfer to the Millennium Elephant Foundation for a unique volunteer experience with elephants

Day 5-8: Gal Oya National Park
- Journey to Gal Oya National Park for a two-night stay

Day 9-10: Kumana/Yala

Day 11: leaving to Colombo, en route see the Elephants on the road in Buttala road and who have been habituated for the vehicles 

followed by the Departure.
